Teddie the Dog's Favourite Video Game Console
Bark bark, woof woof -- snarl?!
Ahem...I mean, hello everyone - it's Teddie the Dog here, Alex's trusty border collie pup!
When I'm not chasing my own tail and sniffing the backside of other dogs, I'm playing my trusty Nintendo Wii U, which you can see to the side of me right there. Doesn't it look fun? That's right - I'm not one for these 'first-person shooter' games, like what my Evil Uncle Gerrard plays. Neither am I a fan of those 'art house' games you get on the PC, which my neighbour, Cobalt the Collie, spends his days pawing off to. No, I like my games like I like my leisure time - fun, frantic and furry.
If you want this dog's opinion, one of the best games ever made is The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, so what could be better than the HD remake on the Wii U? It's the same game but better, with sharper visuals that pack a real punch! The island you start out on is fun and I like running through the sand, but I'm mad that there are only pigs to play with on the island - hey, numbskulls, where are the dogs, huh?! The King of Red Lions is also my mortal enemy - why couldn't he have been the King of Red Wolves? Dogs are better than cats, after all! WOOF!
If Wind Waker isn't your bag, why not try Pikmin 3, where you play a group of little aliens on a big planet trying to survive by scavenging for food? This one time I had to scavenge for food from a nearby dustbin when Alex locked me out of the house for nibbling on his favourite chair leg...I thought it was a squeaky toy, I swear it! I like this game because your little pikmin companions get to eat a lot of food - and, as I'm sure you can imagine, if you wave any form of food in front of my face I'm bound to go right for it!
You also can't go wrong with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, although I must warn you that the game has a very real lack of dogs in it that may be alarming to small pups. At least it isn't as unfair as Super Mario 3D World, though - Mario, for the first time, dons a cat suit in that game that he spends the majority of the game either wearing or desperately looking to wear. This makes my fluffy black ears droop - why is so much emphasis put on cat Meow-io when instead he could have been Woof-io?
If all of this sounds like I don't enjoy my Wii U system then that couldn't be further from the truth. I love the Wii U like I love my masters! If you have a dog in your life, I, Teddie the Dog, advise you to put a little Wii U in your living room as well. Us dogs love it - it is canine approved!
Ahem, I mean...bark bark, woof woof -- snarl?!
