Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire have some interesting promotional art

Recently announced Generation 3 Pokemon remake titles Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have received a new promotional screenshot, which can be seen above. By the look of things, Groudon and Kyogre have been replaced with two elemental wolves - one representing fire and the other representing water.

Why this change has been made remains to be seen, but it seems reasonable that a new game in the series would include a few surprises. The game will play in full 3D for a 'pawsome adventure' and will once again feature the land of Hoenn to explore - last seen in the original Ruby and Sapphire games on the Game Boy Advance in 2003 in territories outside of Japan.

The region appears to have frosted over in the remake, perhaps suggesting that a new villainous presence has taken over - possibly Mother Nature.

As more information filters through about the above wolf-like Pokemon, we'll undoubtedly learn more about their names, origin and purpose.
