I'm the wrong guy to review anything Bejeweled related. It seduced my wife, you see. She would stare at those glittering gems for hours on end, utterly mesmerized by the insatiable lust to link like-colored rows together. The mere mention of Bejeweled would make her eyes light up, as if aroused by the thought of a secret lover. I could dance around naked, soaked in massage oils and set on fire, and she would never notice me over the hypnotically sparkling gems. Also, she hogged my computer to play it. Bejeweled is one of those very few puzzle games that could conceivably be mentioned favorably in the same sentence as Tetris. The gameplay is simple (swap the positions of adjacent jewels, to form rows of the same color) and utterly addicting.

I give Bejeweled 2 Deluxe the low grade because it has no business being on Xbox Live Arcade. Firstly, it'll run you 800 points ($10) when you could simply play the Flash version online for free. Sure there are Xbox Live leaderboards and achievements, but that's hardly worth the Hamilton. Secondly, the d-pad is a horrible way to play Bejeweled compared to the freedom a mouse affords. Unless you simply must have Bejeweled on your Xbox 360, give this a pass.
