League of Legends Tribunal
This is Riot's attempt to police their game by peer review. Once a player racks up sufficient negative reports, they become vulnerable to sanctions, which are levied if fellow players convict them.
Even more fascinating, there are no clear rules as to what constitutes unacceptable behavior. From the League of Legends Tribunal FAQ:
"We believe in giving the community what it needs to define itself and that includes what is acceptable or unacceptable behavior. Any rules provided by Riot Games could unnecessarily influence the community."
So these impromptu juries not only determine guilt or innocence, but also legislate the very definition of acceptable behavior from case to case. Which means that clear miscarriages of justice can occur.
