Today's comic occurred to me because I've been playing a lot of Last of Us multiplayer (which has been criminally neglected; it's my favorite MP of 2013). The game is about resource management, and the basic rifle only comes with seven rounds. Due to years of mashing the reload button after every conflict, I found myself wasting time habitually attempting to reload bullets I didn't have.
It's a far cry from the hundreds of rounds and extended magazines you roll with in games like Call of Duty. With all those munitions ceaselessly hurtling through the air, any errant moment spent reloading equals death.
I think the reflex may be even stronger in my fellow older gamers. I spent my college years GoldenEye-ing, with its lightning quick insta-reload. Double 0 training must include advanced "Sleight of Hand".
