For the most part, Titanfall's regen requirements are terrific. They strongly encourage you to experience a variety of loadouts and tactics. For example, the Spitfire LMG is not a popular weapon (and I personally grew to loathe it), but I am aware of other players that developed an affinity for it. Without the prompting, they would never have given it a full chance to grow on them.
However, a few of the regen requirements could've used a bit more thought. It is pretty tough to kill an ejecting pilot, even if you're vigorously focused on nothing but. Respawn had the sense to patch the requirement from 50(?!) down to 5.
Another challenge requires you to kill 50 enemies by squishing them with your falling Titan. It sounds good on paper, but it devolves into looking for a drop pod of grunts, calling your Titan on them, then running around them in a circle to keep their attention. When I saw a fellow challenge seeker doing that, I almost didn't have the heart to shoot him. Almost.
Now, I'm working on reaching Gen 9 and the only requirement remaining is to WIN 100 games. You know how many wins I had tallied by the time I reached the Level 50 cap? Six. As long as I play Titanfall purely for the enjoyment, it's terrific. But if I sneak a peek at the challenge progress bar, it feels like a cavalcade of dicks queuing up for a go at my mouth.
