The Wii U is an unmitigated disaster. For next-gen money, you get last-gen horsepower in a processor that's difficult to program. Instead, Nintendo expended resources on an oversized DS-style controller, ill suited for conventional rigorous gaming. Combine these two factors, and no third party developer has been able (or been willing) to create distinguished software for the system. The big name first-party Nintendo titles won't arrive until the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 hit their next-gen stride in the fall.
It's sad that this $20 adapter, so I can use my controllers from *2001*, is actually a touch of positive news.
