New Things to Come

So, after subduing Vargas with my immensely more powerful logic, we're going to be trying some different things around here. You can see the first change in today's strip, going 775 pixels wide. I actually had to shrink it from the 800 width Dave sent me, because it borked the webpage. So yeah, Dave, when you see this...max is 775 to the pixel. I'll take the credit for the idiocy of comics scrunched to 600 pixel width that we've been posting until now.

So Guitar Hero 2... I don't enjoy the song selection nearly as much as its predecessor. They amped the difficulty to the point where it's not as fun, but made note recognition more forgiving, in that you can make more mistakes. I don't care for these changes; a great deal of the satisfaction was perfectly nailing each solo and feeling the thrill of being a Guitar Hero.

It's the new co-op mode that totally redeems the game. I love it when my wife plays video games with me, and GH2 rocks. One person plays lead, while the other handles bass or rhythm guitar duties. This, is a ton of fun. I was debating waiting for the 360 version, with downloadable new songs, but I didn't find any adapters planned for the guitar peripheral. I don't feel like wasting the cash buying new faux guitars.

I recommend it without reservation if you're a big fan of GH, and especially if you have two guitars. Everyone else, you have to try the original.
