Other Uses For Rock Band Instruments

Try playing games other than Rock Band or Guitar Hero with the plastic faux instruments. They function as limited and comedically frustrating input devices for additional challenge. In a pinch, they can serve as extra controllers for your buddies if you don't have a full four.

Playing Madden with alternative means dates back to the PlayStation 2 for me. A buddy and I tried playing with DDR dance pads, which proved hilariously fruitless. We initially tended to stick to using only the directions and the X button which was necessary to snap the ball. Sadly, this meant that we could throw only to the tight end with any confidence. Messing with the other buttons invariably led to players leaping and diving insipidly.

Apparently the guys over at Squishy Comics had a similar notion. To quote Mike, "First one to do a Hadouken gets 100 bucks!"
