Sonic Boom, Biyatch Redux
There was another Street Fighter II strip a few weeks ago, with the same punchline, that wasn't really funny. Today's comic is my apology.
I love fighting games, even if they don't love me. I've been busy getting pwned playing Dead or Alive 4 online. Purchasing this game is a no-brainer. The series continues to be bouncingly beautiful - as stunning graphically as DOA3 was at the previous Xbox's launch. What tripped up my limited fighting game skills, is that the gameplay is more intricate now; mashing the counter button doesn't really work anymore. While I do need to play it more to grasp its subtleties, it would seem DOA4 has bridged the gameplay gap to match up with the Tekken and Virtua Fighter series. And of course, no fighting game (only Soul Calibur comes close) has ever looked as gorgeous and fluid as DOA, especially in hi-definition.
[Edit: Ok, no; there are no subtleties. Dead or Alive 4's game mechanics are still shallow in comparison with Virtua Fighter.]
