If ever I posted a strip that needed elucidation it's this one, but my head is drowsy from too much wine at my buddy's wedding (congratz again Chang!).
In short, the OnLive system is gaming via cloud computing: all the processing happens somewhere over there and is pumped back to you via the internet. The massive upside is that you'd never have to buy additional hardware; all the upgrades would be handled by them on the server side. They're talking about Crysis quality tech on even cheap laptops, since all the computations are being handled...in the sky. Or if you got their "console", it'd be just a plain set top box with only enough hardware to pump the information back and forth. Something like that would never "red ring".
The downside is - IT WORKS THROUGH THE INTERNET! High definition gaming would require 5+ Mbps (and we all know how stable with 100% uptime internet service is), and even then you'd have latency for *single player* games. No matter how good their magical compression tech is, OnLive would still need to wait for your inputs to reach them, and then stream the video back to you. It'd be like playing games on early LCD screens with shitty response time. And yeah, multiply that latency by the normal lag of multiplayer action, and you'd get (since Vargas elected not to type it out) Play by eMail slide shows of action.
It all sounds great, like gorgeous mermaids that desperately long to fellate you. I just can't wrap my head around how OnLive would provide a worthwhile gaming experience with non-mythical technology.

Brain is addled. Wine is happy. Read above post for elaborationizings.
England boats sailing world. Taking lots. Odd positioning in Russia looks like Austria with stalemate, but long outlook has redcoats stomping Hapsburg swine.
France gobble all Italy. Does he continue and eat Austria or chomp on peacemate England?
No more Italy. :(
Austria third remaining power player, but not. Bad decisions and recognition to failure necessities will be his undo. Dave, your army in Trieste should have been marching to reinforce Warsaw, NOT WEAKLY STABBING AT YOUR ONLY POSSIBLE REMAINING ALLY. If Kang was gonna screw you, it wouldn't have mattered anyhow. You got stuck in this mindset, because you somehow got rewarded so far for NOT looking ahead at the big picture.
Turkey makes the progress! Understandification of support orders make for hurting Austria!
Russia exec vengeance.cfg @ Austria.net login STABBINGS pass MUFFINS
Man, Austria burned up two games' worth of political capital and unwarranted good will in order to get this far. Now everyone wants to harm him.

To Chang, Former Sultan of Turkey
Congratulations to you and your new wife. I offer you the key to Moscow, which I once again hold (briefly).
