Modern Warfare 2
I often shy away from doing strips about specific games, as they tend to limit the audience, but I figured since over TEN MILLION PEOPLE have played Call of Duty 4 it'd be safe.
No other title has consistently consumed my game time as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I'll likely surpass 100,000 online kills before I finally shelve it when the sequel hits this fall. One hundred thousand. The number staggers me. I'm also currently seventy or so headshots with the semi-automatic shotgun away from completing every single challenge in the game.
And I'll be doing it all over again when Modern Warfare 2 hits. I've largely been trying to avoid any coverage of it, so as to go into it as fresh as possible, but I couldn't resist checking out their E3 presentation. Before today's strip gets entirely misunderstood, the snowmobiles are NOT available in the multiplayer competitive modes. Pity.
And a note to Infinity Ward: I don't care how much "baller cred" it gives the character, there's no way a self-respecting professional soldier, a special operator no less, would EVER turn his sidearm and fire it sideways, "gangsta" style. He'd just as soon turn it on his own face.

MW2
To answer Wedge's question, yes, I am excited about Modern Warfare 2.
Also, Infinity Ward, could you please be more specific about what you meant by "tweaking Martyrdom"? It is by far my least favorite perk. I don't believe a player should be rewarded for dying. I also don't believe that a player should be forced to clear an area, often into the line of fire of an enemy, just because they happened to kill an enemy with Martyrdom.
Now Playing - Lots of Call of Duty 4 (360)
