IBM has created a new abomination that takes us one step closer to the Great Machine Apocalypse. "Watson" is apparently holding its own against our greatest Jeopardy champions. I look forward to being plugged into The Matrix.

It's impressive enough for a computer to defeat a grandmaster in chess, but this is a whole new playing field. Watson is armed with voice recognition and interpretation sufficient to parse complex ideas, analysis routines to search its database, and the wherewithal to deliver contextually appropriate responses. If you thought dealing with an Indian who claims his name is Johnny is bad, wait until your service needs are routed through this uppity artificial intelligence.
