Our new national budget includes borrowing money to pay interest so that the U.S. Treasury won't default. That's like taking out a new credit card to pay the minimum on your maxed-out card. The war in Iraq has cost every man, woman and child in the country more than a thousand dollars each thus far, with no end in sight. We don't have enough funds to scrape together to rebuild one of our major cities or even properly place its refugees. United States citizens refugees...
But, we do have funds for the "Children and Media Research Advancement Act", the original version of which called for $90 million. Who knows what that amount will bloat to once every other congressperson appends their various agendas. It really isn't a lot of money in the big picture, but every tenth of a billion dollars adds up, especially when it's wasted on such idiotic political witch hunts, or distracting important organizations like the CDC from doing their real jobs.
