You may have noticed the semi-blackout of the internet the other day, as we (and by we, I mean other sites, because our modest site doesn't have the manpower to deal with these sort of things) sent Congress a vociferous electronic protest. Shame that those power brokers are mostly old fogies who still read physical newspapers and weigh constituent will by the tonnage of physical snail mail they receive.

Nevertheless, SOPA's momentum has slowed.

When you boil it down, this really isn't about fighting piracy or freedom of speech. It's about control. The people who are used to having it (old media) don't like ceding it to upstart whippersnappers like Netflix or Google. Eventually my generation will get old and use Congressional measures to overreact to whatever nonsense is important to idiot kids. But for now, we need to fight the power.

So do your part. At the very least, hit up one of those online petitions that the establishment ignores. With minimal extra effort, you can send a sternly worded message to your Representative.
