Killer GM


I killed Vargas' character last week in a hail of automatic fire. BUT it wasn't at all my fault that he was standing in front of a guy with a massive machine gun.

We had some server issues last night, and in one of those odd quirks of computing, the images from the last week+ of comics are missing. I'll have to fix those tomorrow morning.

To Be Fair, Dee's Not A Killer GM


To be fair, we players made all the choices that led to us standing in front of said guy with a massive machine gun, and Dee did give me and the players plenty of time to try and preemptively act to avoid a) getting into said situation, and b) take initiative after we were already in said situation. Instead, we all waited until we were all forced to act or die, and therefore had to rely on dice chucking. The dice weren't favorable.

First, the dice dictated that the dude with the machine gun went first (critically good initiative). Second, my character's magical shield spell (I was a magic user), while powerful enough to withstand the initial hail of bullets, my defensive recasting of it was piss poor, so the following hail bullets shredded my armor, and then me, to bits. Once again, to be fair, we players made all the choices that lead up to that point. The "trick" in Dee's games (as it is in real life) is to make choices that don't lead to you having dudes with massive machine guns aimed at your face instead of relying on the dice to see you through once you're in those situations. I have no one to blame but myself.
