Ideally, game industry executives would ignore the press and just do their jobs. You know, making executive decisions. If they absolutely HAVE to run their yaps, I'd prefer them to stop being so disingenuous.
Let's be frank. GameStop is a chain of glorified pawnshops. There's no reason to shop there over say, a Best Buy, other than their inventory of used games. They charge what they do because the market can bear it.
I like that GameStop CEO Paul Raines doesn't claim otherwise. Sure he spins many of his statements from a self-serving perspective, but he answers a wide range of questions with a disarming amount of frankness. If anything, the interviewer failed by not posing the difficult questions: "Why is GameStop customer service so shitty? Why do you emphasize pushing marketing promos over assisting your customers?"
