Touch the Monolith

When I was much younger, sans responsibilities of family and bills, I used to be "hardcore". I remember breaking Final Fantasy VII's playing time counter at 99:99, as I guided my gold chocobo to victory in race after race in an effort to win those last couple materia. I was one of those unhinged gamers who viewed cheat device users as morally deficient lepers.

Nowadays, I have neither the time nor inclination to devote to such overwrought pursuits. Grinding levels or farming items simply isn't fun. It's work, with no pay. Of course, I condemn cheating in online games, but for single player experiences, the $20 I spent on my Codebreaker is the best investment I've made for my PS2. I'm now one of those jaded gamers who view "hardcore" types as mentally impaired fascists.

Patting Myself on the Back

You know what? I do believe I'll take the road of Pride and pat myself on the back for a job well done. I -LOVE- how this strip came out! (does a jig... badly).
