League of Legends Suspension

I'm Innocent!

Two days ago I came home from running errands ready to play some League of Legends, only to find that I was banned for two weeks, with no reason given.

After contacting Riot Games' player support, I found out that I got punished for "zoom hacking" (hacking the game so I can get a wider view of what's going on around me), and that if I do it again, I will get perma-banned. Seeing as how I had no clue what zoom hacking was until I got banned, I told Riot that I'm innocent, and that I would appreciate any help in determining what could cause them to incorrectly believe I'm cheating.

Instead of helping me, Riot then accuses me of scripting (I'm still fuzzy on specifics, but I understand scripting is cheating by having my champions react in specific ways when something happens in game... allowing me to land combos and skill shots with uncanny precision). Not only that, as far as they're concerned, the matter is closed.

So here I am on day three of my suspension. Riot has determined me to be guilty of TWO things, one of which I didn't know existed until this whole mess started. I have no idea WHAT caused this in the first place, so I can't make sure that it doesn't happen again. All I want to do is play a game I love, but I can't, because reasons. Once my suspension is up, I will still have the fear of getting perma-banned because I could get accused of doing this AGAIN and I have no recourse. The situation is just upsetting me to no end.

Turns out I'm not alone. If you do a quick search for league of legends zoom hacking bans, you'll find that others are posting stories similar to my own.

Riot, what's going on?
