They're terrific and all, but when you go to see them, all they do is turn their backs on you and go to sleep. I am rooting for their population to recover, but who isn't? They're so adorable and all. I do find it kind of weird that zoos show them panda porn, in hopes that they will reproduce...

What bothers me is that the L.A. Zoo feels the need to show me bobcats and coyotes, two animals I can and have seen out and about, yet also feels that I do NOT need to see beavers, animals which I have never ever seen once in my life.

i've actually seen the lil one pounce on her pa a couple of times and get knocked off with a subtle paw swipe. she's a persistent one.

there was also another time she rolled herself into a ball and rolled down the hill. needless to say it was adorable.

well how is that their fault? do they have that kind of awareness to enable them to understand they're near extinction? maybe we killed all the attractive ones.

Like the poor, caged up panda is gonna know the difference. The panda sees other pandas every day so they don't have any reason to think that they are the last ones in the world.

On another note... not everybody is an exhibitionist. Maybe the pandas are shy and don't wanna be doing it in front of a camera.
