TIE Fighter for the PC (DOS) was AWESOME. It was also released SIXTEEN years ago. I'm dumbfounded that we haven't seen a resuscitation of this franchise. I'd love to once again fly Imperial missions, and earn tattoos of ever-increasing honor and magnificence by pleasing the Emperor.
Recapture that badassery, add a symmetrical, intertwining Rebel campaign, and call it X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter.
Round it out with a multiplayer component. Make sure it includes all the fighters, from beefy and slow Y-Wings to lightning quick TIE Interceptors, from funky B-Wings to TIE Bombers. Make sure they allow for different payloads for varying situations, forcing a selection between say for example, proton torpedoes or a tractor beam. Then throw all the players in the lobby into a random scenario, like an Alliance Death Star run or an Imperial escort mission. Add in surprises to keep them fresh, like the arrival of pirates or a solar storm, randomly generated by a system like the "Director A.I." from Left 4 Dead.
Do you not want this game?! LucasArt, make this happen!
