You'd think that, after the third or fourth time Mega Man had to fight a group of rogue robots and Dr. Wily, Dr. Light and Mega Man would decide to KEEP all the fancy weapons and enhancements that he collects during his adventures, instead of starting at square one every time.

It's kind of like our military. We had the best pilots in the world during WWII with a 10 to 1 KD ratio. When that dropped to 2 to 1 in Vietnam everyone panicked and came up with the Naval Fighter Weapons School, also known as Top Gun. Top Gun is no more. Square One.
