The eyes dave drew last friday. They're different. They now have pupils. Odd.

Also, Tina's revolted expression is frightening.

Your FACE is frightening!

(It's really not, but it seemed like the right thing to say ;) )

That was it, I felt something was different but couldn't point it. So I just blamed it to Tina's revolting expression.
Now that I look at it, even today's strips has pupils, so I guess this change is permanent. Right?
It looks better in today's strips.

Trying out different things. Just checking to see what looks better. The pupil-less eyes are good for simple drawings (and it's easier on me overall), but the pupils seem to add just a little extra trimming when I'm trying to make character faces more expressive.

It makes them seem younger... no... hmmm. The expressions in direman 630... They remind me of the eyes on a cheerful theme park mascot or a chuck'e'cheese band robot for some reason. The emotions seem more forced It's... disconcerting.

They work in Squishy 647, but maybe that's just because Leo and Mike are wearing glasses. In the last few Direman strips they're odd.
