Order Summaries/Procedures/Due Dates

Postby wevets on Fri Jul 10, 2009 3:03 pm

Hi All!

I will post all orders here after the due dates.

I will only execute orders I can understand, so please make yourselves clear. 3-letter abbreviations and/or full names of provinces and seas will be accepted.

For any new players, I strongly recommend checking with the rulebook: http://www.wizards.com/avalonhill/rules/diplomacy.pdf (PDF document)

Also, you may wish to download a map to your desktop:
http://www.diplom.org/Online/maps/map_c.gif
(Please note differences between abbreviations for Norway and Norwegian Sea as well as Belgium and Berlin.)

The first turn will be due:
Wednesday, July 15th at 2130 (9:30 PM) Pacific Standard Time
That's 0030 (12:30 AM) Eastern Standard Time or 0530 (5:30 AM) Greenwich Mean Time for anyone in a different time zone.

Good Luck Diplomaticizing!

A word on making the game for everyone -

Enmities and alliances from prior games should not be allowed to influence this game. It makes it difficult for new players such as steve, and it's difficult to negotiate when motives carry over from the past. Please play your nations anew each game - keep it interesting!

Yup - Spring turns will be due Wednesdays 9:30 PM, Fall turns Saturdays 9:30 PM, and Winter turns Sunday... have to confirm with David on the timing, Sunday turns might get due earlier in the day, but I will keep you updated.

The excel spread sheet has a row labeled "Send your orders to" with my email and phone #. I prefer email, but will accept phone orders if you call when I have a pen handy or leave a voicemail.

Odd - Linda's email didn't bounce back for me. Could you try again?

Hey Steve, I was just wondering if we're using the same orders protocol as past games. Namely, if I send in orders early, can they be countermanded later before the deadline?

Yes - the most recent set of orders will be the orders I implement, as long as they are received before the deadline. :)

Phew, that's a lot of pain coming my way lol

England and France I get. But Germany and Turkey? You two are suicidal.
