Multi-paged threads

Postby Dave on Wed Feb 20, 2008 7:03 pm

I would suggest that whenever someone clicks on a thread with more than one page worth of posts, that they're taken to the last page of said thread instead of the first. I cannot recall a single forum that takes you to the first page of a multi-paged thread.

PS. I read the above. It feels a bit clumsy, but I can't think of a cleaner way of getting my idea across.

It's funny; I can't find the option to adjust this. Anyone know where in the haystack that is phpBB they hid this setting?

Also, you can always just hit the number of the page you want to get to.

That's what I'm doing now (hitting the last page). Just threw me off when the thread title itself didn't do it.

The Squishy Forums also sent you to the first page.

I'm fine as is. Sometimes someone hops onto a thread late and its easier to read up from either the beginning or click up a few to find where they left off.

Is there an option to cause clicking a link to open a new window/tab instead of using the one I am currently browsing the forums in?

Also, all Daves are stinky. Please discuss.

Freakin' artists! If it's not one thing it's another.

Sorry but I think that's an awful idea, just use the right click of your mouse.

I translated this from other site:
Other Site wrote:David's meaning:

Has a good capability for intelectual controversy due to it's penetrating and observing mind.
It's sentimental life can cause drastic changes in it's economy
It's concious and subconcious will have an armonic unison.
Is ingenious and wide in it's ideas, wishful of progress and innovation.

So, yeah they probably stink.

Most forums take you to the first page. I think it's the fact that it's "harder" to notice the multiple page link things on these boards. At least for me.
