We reached our 200th strip. I'm glad. I now have two means of checking how much I've grown as an artist. Check out the first few Squishy or Direman strips and you'll see just how different the art looks after 50 strips. Eventually I figure the look and style of the characters will even out, much like they did in PvP Online. Scott Kurtz' characters have not changed much since he re-designed them many years ago, but his overall art has drastic changes that can be seen throughout the series as time goes by, from the way he uses panels to tell a story, to his use of composition and economy of lettering. Damn, I'm now envious of him. What gives me comfort, as well as the will to push towards getting better, is the fact that I've only been drawing web comics for roughly 2 years, and I've shown a lot of improvement in such a short period of time. I can only imagine what the art will look like after I've been at it for 5 years... or even after a decade. Scott Kurtz has his 10 years of drawing in PvP, and I hope that I will too with Direman and Squishy.
Enjoy the strips... and thanks for all the kind words in the forums.
